Self-Awareness

“For seven years I have worked at the meeting point of structural bodywork and nervous system science. My hands are trained to feel the difference between tissue that is simply tight and tissue that is holding — the difference between a muscle and a memory.

Each session is a slow conversation. We do not chase pain or force release. We create the conditions under which the body feels safe enough to let go on its own — parasympathetic, patient, precise.

This matters more than it sounds. A nervous system that never receives the signal of safety stays braced — shoulders lifted, jaw set, breath shallow. Held that way long enough, the bracing becomes pain, thin sleep, and a low hum of vigilance people stop noticing because it never leaves. You cannot stretch or think your way out of it. The body has to be shown, through touch, that the threat has passed.

And it is not a one-time repair. Most people come only when something hurts and stop the moment it stops, which is why the same shoulder returns next season. Sessions at a steady rhythm — every three to six weeks — are how the nervous system learns a new baseline instead of a temporary reprieve. Everyone deserves a standing appointment with their own body.”
